The 2016 Prize
- Ing. Jan Korbel, PhD. (1988) presented the thesis Applications of generalized statistics and multifractals in financial markets and thermodynamics defended in May 2016 at the Czech Technical University in Prague
- Mgr. Samuel Kovacik, PhD. (1988) presented the thesis Aspects of physics in non-commutative space defended in August 2016 at the Comenius University in Bratislava
- Ing. Jakub Zelezny, PhD. (1987) presented the thesis Electronic structure and magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic semiconductors and metals defended in July 2016 at the Charles University in Prague
At its closing session on November 24, 2016, the jury decided to award
the main prize to
for the thesis Electronic structure and magnetic properties of antiferromagnetic semiconductors and metals regarding it an excellent contribution to the theory of antiferromagnetic materials and their electric control.
The jury also decided to give a honourable mention to the thesis of
entitled Aspects of physics in non-commutative space for its remarkable contribution to applications of the non-commutative space idea in quantum mechanics.
